In a step in the right direction last week, the CDC eased telework restrictions for disabled employees.

It’s still far short of accommodating everyone reasonably, as only about 10% of federal employees have been given any kind of telework exemption since the current administration’s return-to-office mandates.

But this new policy improvement was well-received, even receiving applause in the meeting in which it was announced.

Hopefully, as more policymakers understand these adjustments only yield positive results and better retention, they’ll at least consider expanding telework to additional workers.
