Kevin O’Leary, known as “Mr. Wonderful” on ABC’s Shark Tank, shared a video last week explaining why remote work is here to stay and why he wants all of his companies to embrace it. (Instagram reel / Inc. article)

“Areas like accounting, compliance, logistics — those people never came back to the office, because they moved miles away to better lifestyles, better homes for the dollar, better schools for their kids. They don’t need to sit in a cubicle anymore and you’re never going to get them back.”

It’s always so refreshing to hear business leaders speaking truthfully about remote work like this.

“In our 50+ investments, we thought 15% would not return [to the office]. The actual number now is 40% did not return. And I think that’s true for the entire economy.

If you’re trying to say to people ‘you gotta work in an office’ and thats a talent you want to hire, you’ll just get the bottom quartile of people that have no choice. I don’t want those people; I want my competitors to hire those people.”

Kudos to Mr. Wonderful for sharing what he’s seen, and hopefully encouraging other business leaders to think more seriously about shifting to remote work.
