👨🏻‍⚖️ Would legally-allowed WFH work?

Inside: Omada Health is hiring in engineering, marketing, and product. Plus: legal options in a RTO with relocation, Google ex-CEO slanders WFH, remote work's carbon footprint, and more.

Good Morning,

Google’s former CEO Eric Schmidt is again slandering remote work, saying it doesn’t help the US in our tech competition with China.

His argument is really more about US workers’ number of hours worked, and the fact that we should all collectively disregard “work-life balance” in order to maintain our position as a world economic leader.

Lots to say about that, but for now I’ll just say that nobody in their right mind is going to read that and think, “you know, he’s right — I should skip my kid’s music recital tonight and work a couple more hours for the sake of our country’s future.”

Ironically, if everyone who could prove they’re more efficient while working remotely were actually allowed to do so, we might get a little closer to Schmidt’s competitive goals.
