✨ Hiring based on "vibes"
Inside: Leidos is hiring engineers, solution architects, and more. Plus: resume tips for the private sector, selfies to prove office attendance, big RTO issues at JPMorgan's biggest campus, and more.
Good Morning,
Last week, the woman behind the resumeofficial101 Instagram account shared a very popular post shining a light on her past experience in HR.
In her role at a large company in 2020, she was in charge of reviewing survey data to see how employees felt about remote work.
She’d never seen a company survey get so many responses — there were tons of long-form answers, overwhelmingly in favor of remote work. For example:
There were parents who said they could take their kids to get chemotherapy
Parents also shared that they could see their kids’ milestones that they would have otherwise missed
Hundreds of people said their fitness, wellness routines, or chronic health conditions had substantially improved
Her point in making this video: why would companies move forward with a strict return to office mandate, when they DON’T have data that says their company will do better, but they DO have data that shows their employees’ lives will be worse?
I loved this quote: “When there’s a new way to work that makes people’s lives better, and it doesn’t cost you anything, I don’t understand why you wouldn’t wholeheartedly embrace it.”
What a post — it resonated strongly with me, as you can imagine.
So for the times when you see lots of headlines about CEOs making decisions to bring people into the office for as many days they can squeeze out, and you wonder if remote work is “dying”… remember that a heavy majority of people want the flexibility to choose where they work from.
And because such a high percentage of people want that flexibility, and because technology is becoming even better at supporting it, it’s inevitable that remote work will become a reality for more and more people in the coming years.
For those searching, hang in there — we’ll keep bringing more remote jobs and resources your way.

TECH TALK
More screens, more productivity
Many of you are already familiar with a personal favorite gadget of mine, Xebec’s Snap laptop attachment — the successor to their Tri-Screen 2. For a while now Xebec has been one of the clear frontrunners in a space that hasn’t really gone mainstream yet.

I was surprised to see recently that Asus now has a Zenbook Duo, which gives users two 14” screens in what appears to be a thin laptop setup. I love to see the innovation finally reaching large manufacturers, because, honestly, we know they could have launched these years ago.
And with how much more effective so many of us are with multiple monitors, this trend can make remote work even more effective for tons of people and their employers.

Asus Zenbook Duo: buyer beware?
But Amazon actually has a note on the Zenbook Duo page that says “Frequently returned” 😬 …haven’t seen that before — can’t be good! At least Xebec has years of experience under their belt and much higher customer satisfaction. And at the very least, there are plenty of competitors with simple one-screen attachments.
PS: this isn’t sponsored, but Xebec is raising prices a bit at the end of the day today because of new tariffs — so if you were considering a purchase, now would be the time to pull the trigger and get yourself one.
