🤓 Optimizing your workspace and the holiday sweatpants guide

Inside: A podcast on home office optimization, gift these sweatpants in time Christmas, and more data that disproves remote detractors.

Good Morning,

Hope your holiday season is off to a great start and that the grinch isn't gunning for your remote work policy.

Three quick bites for you this week ⬇️

Andrew Huberman is a Stanford neuroscientist who hosts one of the most popular podcasts in the US.

One of his episodes earlier this year was about optimizing your workspace - which can be especially important when you're not working from an office that's been set up for you.

Here's a link to the podcast episode, and a link to the accompanying newsletter that discusses his findings.

The key takeaways: sitting and standing while working is usually a good idea, take breaks to walk around every hour or so, and put some thought into your environment while trying out new patterns to see what works best for you.

The Sweatpants guide on our website now highlights seven brands that provide shipping in time for Christmas - several suggest ordering by today.

Sweatpants make great gifts and they're also perfect to wear while lounging at home this time of year.

If anyone claims that remote work leads to less engagement, this study recently published in HBR can be an arrow in your quiver when responding.

It specifically studied the frequency and duration trends of remote meetings over time; remote employees are having more meetings and shorter meetings, compared to the beginning of the major shift to remote work in 2020.

The key takeaways: remote workers are not less engaged than office workers, and "remote interactions are shifting to more closely mirror in-person interactions."

And even though remote workers are having more meetings, here's hoping the next two weeks don't have quite as many in store for you.

Cheers,
Grant
